Vassar College strives to make its events, performances, and facilities accessible to all. Individuals with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the Office of Campus Activities at least 72 hours in advance of an event, Mondays-Fridays, at 845-437-5370. Without sufficient notice, appropriate space/and or assistance may not be available.

Campus Facilities
ALANA Center
There is first floor access and a ramp extension leading to the main entrance of the ALANA Center (2nd floor). Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor. The elevator has to be accessed from the 2nd floor. Please ask for assistance at front desk. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the Baldwin lot and in front of Kautz Admission House on Main Circle.
Alumnae House
There is a ramp leading to the main entrance at the North end of the building with elevator access to all public levels. Accessible public restrooms are located throughout the building. A portable ramp is available upon request to provide access to the living room. Accessible parking spaces are located in the Alumnae House parking lot.
Athletic and Fitness Center, and Walker Field House
There is ground level access with elevator and/or ramp access to all levels. Accessible restrooms and shower facilities are available in both buildings. A pool lift is available for individuals with mobility impairments. Accessible parking spaces are located in the main athletics parking lot.
The Aula (in Ely Hall)
The Aula is located in Ely Hall. The accessible entrance located on the north side of the building. Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor. Accessible parking spaces are located at the side entrance, the Ely/Aula visitors’ parking lot, and Pratt Circle.
Baldwin Hall
Baldwin Hall is accessible with elevator access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor on the north wing. Accessible infirmary rooms and bathrooms are also available. Accessible parking spaces are located in the Baldwin parking lot.
The Bayit, 51 Collegeview Ave (Jewish Student Center)
There is a ramp leading to the rear entrance of the building. An accessible restroom is located on the first floor. On and off street parking is available.
Blodgett Hall
There is access to most of the building either by the central elevator next to the main auditorium on the ground floor or by wheelchair lift. Please contact the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity for use of a lift key. An accessible restroom is located next to the main auditorium on the ground floor and on the second floor in the North wing. Accessible parking spaces are located on the North side of the building and in the Kenyon parking lot.
Bridge for Laboratory Sciences Building
The Bridge building is fully accessible with elevator and accessible restrooms. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the parking area in front of Skinner Hall located on Raymond Ave.
The Chapel
There is ramped access to the left of the stairs into the main vestibule of the Chapel and first floor only. Currently, there are no accessible restrooms in the Chapel. The closest accessible restrooms are located in Taylor Hall on the second floor via the elevator under the main gate entrance during regular business hours. When Taylor Hall is not open the accessible restrooms in Main building near the accessible entrance are available. Accessible parking is located on Main Gate Drive and directly in front of Main building. Assistive listening devices are available with advance notification. Chicago Hall
There is a ramp at the front entrance and side exits providing first-floor access. There is also an accessible restroom located on the first floor. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the east parking lot behind Chicago Hall.
Class of 1951 Observatory
The building is fully accessible with accessible restroom facilities. An accessible parking space is located directly outside the building.
College Center
There are three accessible entrances into the College center. There is the front (north) entrance, the back (south) entrance next to the Faculty Commons and the accessible entrance in the front of Main Building. There is elevator access to basement and second floor located to the left of the Retreat. Accessible restrooms are located on first floor next to the Express and on the second floor by the Multi-purpose Room. Accessible parking is located in the Ely parking lot, Pratt Circle, in front of Kautz Admission House, and in front of Main Building.
The Retreat
The accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking for the Retreat are the same as for the College Center. The Retreat patio is accessible by exiting the building from South entrance. Staff is available to assist individuals with carrying trays, retrieving food and beverages from food stations, and providing assistance with questions about ingredients for people with food allergies or other dietary needs.
Computer Center
Accessible entrances to the Computer Center are located on the first floor in the front of the building or on the ground floor in the rear of the building. There is elevator access to all levels, and accessible restrooms are located on the first and second floors. The closest accessible parking is located in the Baldwin parking lot directly across from the front entrance.
Doubleday Studio Arts Building
There is ground level access at the main entrance of the Russel and Janet Doubleday Studio Arts Building. Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor. Accessible parking is located in front of Admissions and the Baldwin parking lot.
Ely Hall/Aula
There is a ramped entrance on the side of the building next to the Aula. Access to the second-floor art studio and lab areas is possible by lift, please ask for assistance. There are accessible restrooms located on the first and second floors. Accessible parking spaces are located on Pratt Circle, the Ely visitors parking lot, and the Baldwin parking lot.
Facilities Operations Center
There is ground level access to the main entrances to the building. Accessible parking spaces are located in front of the Building, in South Parking Lot. The main entrance to Facilities Operations Center is accessible. Accessible parking spaces are located in the front of the building in South Parking Lot.
Frances Daly Fergusson Quadrangle
Because of the proximity to both the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF) and the Powerhouse Theater, the Frances Daly Fergusson Quadrangle is often the venue for outdoor theatrics and theater-related social events. There is ramped access to the Quadrangle. The closest accessible restrooms are located in the Vogelstein Center for Drama and film. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the CDF parking lot.
Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center (FLLAC)
There is ground level access at the main entrance. The closest accessible restrooms are located in Taylor Hall on the second floor via the main gate elevator during normal business hours. Both restrooms are located next to the Coat Room for the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center. The closest accessible parking spaces are located on Main Gate Drive and in front of Main building.
Kautz Admission House
The Carol and James Kautz Admission House is accessible via a ramp leading to the main entrance. Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in front of Admission House on Main Circle and in the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF) parking lot. Visitors with questions about accessibility for tours, or who need accommodations for any admissions events should call the Office of Admissions, 845-437-7300, prior to arrival.
Kenyon Hall
There is ground level access at front of the building and at the Sun Courtyard entrance. Elevator and/or wheelchair lift access is available throughout the building along with accessible restroom facilities. Accessible parking is available on the front and rear of the building.
Library
The recommended accessible entrance is located on the North end of the building across from Chicago Hall. Patrons can enter by card access or by using the call box for assistance. Upon entering there is elevator access to the main floor. Members of the Vassar College community should contact the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity to arrange card access. There is elevator access to most levels of the library with accessible restrooms on the main floor and in the basement. Please contact the circulation desk for assistance with the online catalogs and CD-ROM workstations, book retrieval from the stacks, and individualized library orientation. Additional library support services are available for students and faculty with disabilities through the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity. The closest accessible parking spaces are on Main Gate Drive and in the east parking lot behind Chicago Hall.
Main Building and College Center
Main Building
There is a ground level entrance located to the right of the main entrance (automatic door opener). There is also a ramped entrance to the back of Main to enter through the College Center on the south side, and a ramped entrance on the north side across from Ely Hall. There is elevator access in Main to all levels (restricted access only 3rd floor and above). Accessible restrooms are located in the front lobby (men’s), in the South wing (gender neutral) and in the College Center. Accessible parking spaces are located in front of Main Building, on Main Gate Drive and in the Ely/Aula Visitors’ parking lot.
College Center
There are three accessible entrances into the College Center. There is the front (north) entrance, the back (south) entrance next to the Faculty Commons and the accessible entrance in the front of Main Building. There is elevator access to basement and second floor located to the left of the Retreat. Accessible restrooms are located on first floor next to the Express and on the 2nd floor by the Multi-purpose Room. Maria Mitchell Observatory
Metcalf House
The accessible entrance is on the North side of the building leading into the waiting room. There is first-floor access with an accessible restroom. The closest accessible parking spaces are located on Pratt circle, the Baldwin parking lot, and the Ely/Aula visitors’ parking lot.
New England Building
New England building is fully accessible. The closest accessible parking is in the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF) parking lot and in front of Main building.
Old Laundry Building
The east ground floor entrance of the Old Laundry Building, which houses the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity, is accessible. An accessible restroom is located on the ground floor. The closest accessible parking spaces are located directly across the street in the Baldwin and Swift parking lots.
Olmsted Hall of Biological Sciences
The front entrance is accessible. There is also an accessible entrance at the rear of the building near the greenhouse, and leading into the first level on the side. There is elevator access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located on first and third floors. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in front of Skinner Hall via the Bridge for Laboratory Sciences building on Raymond Ave.
Powerhouse Theater
There is ground level access at both main entrances to the Hallie Flanagan Davis Powerhouse Theater, with elevator or lift access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located throughout the building. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in Baldwin parking lot and Swift parking lots. Rockefeller Hall
The accessible entrance to Rockefeller Hall( Rocky) is located on the West side of the building. The elevator gives access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor (Basement). The closest parking spaces are located in the East parking lot behind Chicago Hall.
Sanders Classroom
The accessible entrance to Sanders Classroom is located on the west side of the building, with elevator access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located on the ground and third floors. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF) parking lot.
Sanders Physics Laboratory
The accessible entrance to Sanders Physics is on the west side ground level of the building. There is elevator access to all levels and accessible restrooms throughout the building. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF) parking lot.
Skinner Hall of Music
The Main entrance, located on the Raymond Avenue side of Skinner Hall is accessible, as well as the entrance to the auditorium. There is an accessible restroom located on the first floor and an elevator that gives access to most of the building. There is also an accessible restroom next to the auditorium. The Bridge for Laboratory Sciences building is the best and most accessible path of travel between Skinner and Vassar’s main campus. The closest accessible parking spaces are located on the Raymond Avenue side of the building.
Students’ Building and the All Campus Dining Center (ACDC)
The main front entrance and rear entrance to the Students’ Building/ACDC are accessible. The elevator in the main entrance provides access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located in the east and west wings on the first and second floors. Dining staff are available to assist individuals with carrying trays and retrieving food and beverages from stations. Staff can also provide patrons with special dietary needs information about menu ingredients. Accessible parking is located on the east and north sides of the building or in North parking lot.
Susan Stein Shiva Theater
There is ground level access at the main entrance. Accessible seating and restroom facilities are available. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the Baldwin parking lot. More information about accessibility or to request accommodations for a theater or film event.
Swift Hall
There is first-floor access through the main entrance and accessible restroom facilities. Accessible parking spaces are located in Swift and Baldwin parking lots and on Pratt Circle.
Taylor Hall
There is ground level access to the building. Wheelchair lifts or elevator provides access to all levels. The entrance to the elevator is located outside under Main Gate. Accessible restrooms are available on each level. The closest accessible parking spaces are located on Main Gate Drive and in front of Main building.
Vassar Bookstore
The Vassar bookstore is located across the street from main campus on the corner of Raymond and Collegeview Ave.
Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF)
There is ground level access at the north, south and west entrances with elevator or lift access to all levels. Accessible restrooms are located throughout the building. Accessible parking spaces are located in the Vogelstein parking lot. More information about accessibility or to request accommodations for a theater or film event.
Wimpfheimer Nursery School
A ramped walkway leads to the front entrance. There is an accessible gender-neutral restroom on the first floor. Accessible parking is located directly across from the entrance to the Kenyon parking lot.
Residence Houses
Cushing House
Cushing is currently not wheelchair accessible, and there are no accessible restroom facilities. The closest accessible parking spaces are in Cushing, Noyes and ACDC parking lots.
Davison House
The accessible entrance to Davison is located on the south end of the building, nearest Raymond House. Accessible restrooms and shower facilities are located throughout the building. Accessible parking spaces are located in the east lot in front of the building.
Ferry House
There is ground level access to the main floor kitchen and dining room. There is an accessible bathroom on the first floor. The closest accessible parking spaces are located at the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film (CDF) parking lot.
Jewett House
Milo Jewett House. Accessible entrances are located to the right of the front entrance and at the back of the building. There is elevator access or lift access to all levels and accessible restrooms. Accessible parking spaces are available in the lot by the back accessible entrance.
Josselyn House
Olvia Josselyn House is currently not wheelchair accessible but there are accessible restrooms throughout the building. The closest accessible parking spaces are located on the front and side of the building.
Lathrop House
Lathrop is currently not wheelchair accessible and there are no accessible restroom facilities. Accessible parking spaces are located in the North and East parking lots.
Noyes House
The Emma Hartman Noyes House. For temporary guests, there is a ramp on the front of the building leading into an area with an elevator that requires assistance to operate. An accessible restroom is located on the 1st floor. The closest accessible parking spaces are located in the Students’ Building parking lot.
Raymond House
Raymond is currently not wheelchair accessible and there no accessible restrooms. Accessible parking is located in the East parking lot in front of Raymond House.
Strong House
Strong House is currently not wheelchair accessible, and there are no accessible restroom facilities. Accessible parking spaces are located in the North and East campus parking lots.
Terrace Apartments
Please contact the Office of Residential Life 845-437-5860 for accessibility information for the newer Terrace Apartments. The older Terrace Apartments are not accessible. Accessible parking spaces are located in the Terrace apartments parking lot.
