Clinical psychologist and best-selling author Kathleen Nadeau to discuss “ADHD Traits May Be Just What You Need to Succeed,” on October 24, 2013

Clinical psychologist and author Kathleen Nadeau, an internationally recognized expert in the field of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) will discuss “ADHD Traits May Be Just What You Need to Succeed” on Thursday, October 24. A book signing will follow this 12th Annual Steven Hirsch ’71 and Susan Hirsch Disability Awareness Lecture.


Vassar’s Bookstore offers four author events including presentations by Liza Donnelly, Lynn Owen, Eleanor Garrell Berger, and Michael Korda in October and November, 2009.

The Vassar College Bookstore, located in the College Center, will host four events in the Bookstore Author Series in October and November. Speakers will include New Yorker cartoonist and Vassar faculty member Liza Donnelly (10/7, 10:00am); Vassar staff member Lynn Owen, author of LaGrange (10/15, 5:00pm); Vassar alumna Eleanor Garrell Berger, author of Stepping Out, A Tenderfoot’s Guide to the Principals, Practices and Pleasures of Countryside Walking (11/5, 3:00pm campus walk; 4:00pm bookstore presentation); and best-selling author Michael Korda (11/12, 5:00pm), who will speak about his most recent book With Wings Like Eagles. All events are free and open to the public.


Poet, playwright, and advocate, LeDerick Horne, will discuss living with learning disabilities on April 1, 2009.

On Wednesday, April 1, LeDerick Horne will discuss living, “Beyond Classification,” on Wednesday, April 1. His presentation, the eighth annual Steven Hirsch ’71 and Susan Hirsch Disability Awareness Lecture, will address increasing performance, confidence, self-determination, and self-advocacy by looking beyond classification and labels. Free and open to the public, the lecture will begin at 5:30 pm on the second floor of the Students’ Building.
